OVERVIEW

The Scent Hero ships to customers within the continental United States only. This policy outlines our shipping processes, timeframes, and responsibilities.


SHIPPING LOCATIONS

We ship to all addresses in the continental United States (48 states). We do not ship to:

  • Alaska
  • Hawaii
  • US territories (Puerto Rico, US Virgin Islands, Guam, etc.)
  • US military addresses (APO/FPO/DPO)
  • PO Boxes
  • International addresses

SHIPPING METHODS

Standard Shipping (5-7 Business Days)

  • Processing: 1-2 business days after order placement
  • Transit time: 5-7 business days
  • Tracking: Yes, provided via email
  • Cost: Displayed at checkout based on zip code

Expedited Shipping (2-3 Business Days)

  • Processing: 1-2 business days after order placement
  • Transit time: 2-3 business days
  • Tracking: Yes, provided via email
  • Cost: Displayed at checkout based on zip code
  • Availability: May not be available for all locations

Estimated Delivery Times

These are estimates only and are not guaranteed. Delivery timeframes do not include order processing time (1-2 days) or weekends/holidays.


ORDER PROCESSING

All orders are processed within 1-2 business days after payment is received and verified. Processing does not include weekends or federal holidays.

You will receive an order confirmation email immediately after placing your order. You will receive a shipping confirmation email with tracking information once your order ships.


SHIPPING CARRIERS

We use the following carriers:

  • USPS (United States Postal Service)
  • UPS (United Parcel Service)

The specific carrier used depends on your location and service level selected. You will be notified of the carrier via your tracking email.


TRACKING AND DELIVERY

You are responsible for monitoring your shipment using the tracking information provided. Most carriers update tracking information daily.

Once a package shows as "delivered," it is considered received, and risk of loss transfers to you.


DELIVERY ISSUES

Package Shows Delivered But Not Received

  1. Check the delivery location (porch, back door, neighbor's house, etc.)
  2. Wait 24 hours in case the package is delayed
  3. Contact us at thescenthero@gmail.com with:
    • Order number
    • Tracking number
    • Date marked as delivered
    • Delivery address

We will work with the carrier to investigate. Investigation may take 5-10 business days.

Package Lost or Damaged in Transit

We take responsibility for packages that are:

  • Lost in transit and never delivered
  • Damaged so severely they are unusable

Contact us within 7 days of the expected delivery date with:

  • Photos of damage (if applicable)
  • Order number
  • Tracking number

We will file a claim with the carrier and either send a replacement or refund, at our discretion.

Package Damaged Upon Arrival

If your package arrives damaged:

  1. Take photos of the exterior packaging and damaged product
  2. Contact us within 7 days of delivery at thescenthero@gmail.com with photos
  3. We may arrange a replacement or refund at our discretion

ADDRESS ACCURACY

You are responsible for providing a correct shipping address. If you provide an incorrect address:

  • We are not responsible for packages shipped to that address
  • Return shipping costs are your responsibility
  • We may not be able to recover the package

To ensure accuracy:

  • Double-check your address at checkout
  • Avoid abbreviations (use "Street" instead of "St.")
  • Include apartment/unit numbers if applicable

CHANGE OF ADDRESS BEFORE SHIPMENT

If your order has not yet shipped, we may be able to change the address. Contact us immediately at thescenthero@gmail.com with:

  • Order number
  • Original address
  • New address

We cannot guarantee address changes if your order has already left our facility.


UNDELIVERABLE PACKAGES

If your package is returned to us as undeliverable (wrong address, refused delivery, etc.):

  1. We will contact you via email
  2. You have 30 days to provide a corrected address
  3. Reshipping costs are your responsibility
  4. After 30 days, we may refund the order amount only (not refund shipping)

INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING

We do not ship outside the continental United States at this time. Customers outside the US are not able to place orders on our Website.


DELAYS AND FORCE MAJEURE

We are not responsible for delays caused by:

  • Weather conditions or natural disasters
  • Government actions or regulations
  • Carrier strikes or service disruptions
  • Pandemics or public health emergencies
  • War or civil unrest
  • Any other circumstance beyond our reasonable control

In such cases, we will make every effort to notify you of delays, but we cannot provide refunds or compensation.


SHIPPING RESTRICTIONS

Fragrance Shipping Rules

Fragrances are classified as hazardous materials and are subject to shipping regulations:

  • Can only be shipped via ground transportation (not air)
  • Cannot be shipped internationally
  • Subject to carrier restrictions and surcharges
  • May take longer than other items during peak seasons

Hazmat Fees

Some carriers charge additional hazmat fees for fragrance shipments. These fees are calculated based on quantity and destination zip code and are included in your shipping cost at checkout.


INSURANCE

We recommend purchasing shipping insurance for orders over $50 if using Standard Shipping. However, we do not automatically insure shipments. You may:

  • Purchase insurance at checkout (if available)
  • Declare full value if requesting signature confirmation
  • File claims directly with the carrier if insurance was purchased

SIGNATURE CONFIRMATION

Signature confirmation is available upon request for an additional fee. This ensures someone must be present to accept the package. Contact us at thescenthero@gmail.com if you want to add signature confirmation to your order before it ships.


SEASONAL DELAYS

During peak seasons (holidays, sales, etc.), shipping may be delayed beyond our normal timeframes. We will communicate significant delays via email.
